Can I buy a device without a Thai ID card?
Yes. Buying outright needs no Thai ID card at all — pay for the device and take it with you. Instalment plans are the only thing that requires one.
Do you offer instalment plans to foreigners?
No. Our instalment plans require a Thai national ID card, so they are not open to customers without one. Buying outright and renting are.
Can I rent an iPhone, iPad or MacBook?
Yes, and you can rent on a passport — no Thai ID card needed. Rates and the refundable deposit depend on the device and how long you want it, so ask us at any shop.
Will you buy my old device?
Yes. Bring it to any of our three shops, we will check it and make you a cash offer on the spot. Valuation is free and there is no obligation to sell.
Can you tell me what is wrong with my device?
Yes. We can run an initial check and tell you what we find before you decide anything. Bring the device to any of our shops.
Can I return something I bought?
You have 7 days to return a purchase. Bring the device back with everything that came with it.
How long have you been open?
Mac Cafe has been buying, selling and renting Apple devices in Chiang Mai since 2011.
What do you check on a pre-owned device, and is there a warranty?
Every pre-owned device goes through a detailed check on more than 30 points — battery, screen, cameras, speakers, Face ID and so on — and comes with our own shop warranty. If anything goes wrong, bring it back to us.
Do you buy iPhones, and roughly what do you pay?
Yes, we buy. We price on the device's actual condition against the market, fairly and without lowballing. Send photos and the details and our team can give you a rough price before you come in.
Where are your shops and what are your hours?
Mac Cafe has three shops in Chiang Mai: Santitham on Hassadhisawee Rd, Jaemfa behind Chiang Mai University on Suthep Rd, and Na Mor on Huay Kaew Rd. Open daily 09:30 to 22:00, except Na Mor which closes at 20:00; on Wednesdays Santitham and Jaemfa open 10:30 to 21:00. Use the Google Maps button on the page for directions to each shop.
I cannot get to the shop — do you come to me?
Yes. For customers in and around Chiang Mai we will bring the device and do the paperwork at your home or workplace, within 20 km. Pick a time that suits you.
I live outside Chiang Mai — can I order online?
Yes. We ship nationwide, packed carefully and insured in transit, and we send you a tracking number so you can follow it the whole way.
What are promotional products and why are they cheaper?
They are devices we price specially each month or for a festival. Some are in excellent condition at a good price; others have been used and have cosmetic marks. All of them pass the same standard checks as every other device and come with the same warranty cover — we simply pass the saving on.
